Basilica of Saint John the Baptist

Music has been an integral part of our liturgies at the Basilica for over 43 years.  Our worship is organ and choral based using traditional hymns, acclamations, and choral anthems.  Music of integrity from the Masters (Renaissance, Baroque, Classical and Contemporary periods) are utilized.  The Basilica Choir and the Saint Peter Choir is made up of volunteer singers from within both parishes.  They sing at the 10:30 AM Mass every Sunday and on Christmas Eve (Midnight), Holy Thursday, Good Friday, the Easter Vigil and both Masses on Easter Sunday.  They also provide choral music at Weddings, Funerals, Downtown Choral Festivals and Evening Prayer as needed.  If you are interested in making a commitment to our choir, please contact Mr. Sullivan in the rectory.

On Friday, May 8, 2009, the Basilica Choir traveled to Cleveland to participate in the 2009 Jubilation Choral Fesitval Competition - Final Round, sponsored by WCLV - FM.  The Basilica Choir presented a fifteen minute program at the Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist in Cleveland, before a large crowd of people.  Their program was broadcast live on WCLV.
